How to Change Your Primary Email on Facebook
Would you like to change your primary email address on Facebook and use it as your login ID? Or just want to add an other email to your Facebook account for more protection, in case you lose access to one of them?
Anyway, changing an email on Facebook isn't a complicated process at all. You'll only need to create another email account if you don't have one already, then follow the steps below to get the job done. To create an email account you can use any free email provider like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or whatever email provider you prefer.
So, how do I change my email address on Facebook?
In this post, I'll show you in detailed steps how you can add an email address to your Facebook account, make it as a primary and remove the old one. If you're ready to know how, then let's follow the steps below!
How to Change Your Primary Email on Facebook?
Step 1: Click the down arrow at the top right of any Facebook page and choose Settings to open your Facebook general Settings.
Step 2: Click Edit to the right of Contact.
Step 3: Click the link that says Add another email or mobile number.
Step 4: Type the new email that you would like to add to your Facebook account then press the Add button.
Step 5: Facebook will send you an Email with the confirmation link to the address email that you have just added.
Step 6: Now, you should confirm it. To do so, you should log into your email account and click the Confirm link.
Step 7: Once you click the Confirm link, you will be taken back to your Facebook general account settings. And what you have to do after that, is click on Contact to open your email settings again.
Step 8: Once there, tick the box next to the new email that you would like to set it up as a primary, then press the Save Changes button. ( you may be prompted to enter your password. Just do it and save the changes).
Until this moment everything is fine. You have set a new primary email address and you still have a secondary email listed under your Facebook account. Now, you can keep them both and this is the recommended tip from Facebook, in case if you lose access to one of them.
Step 9: If you decided to delete the old email address (the secondary email), just click Edit to the right of Contact.
Step 10: Then, click the Remove link next to the secondary email that you want remove from your Facebook account. ( you may be prompted to enter your password. just do it and save the changes).
